Google Quality Content Guidelines and Criteria

Following his Algorithm changes in 2016 (commonly called Panda Update), Google updated its guidelines (20-3-2016) on Google's quality content criteria. This guide / guideline is intended to respond to cases of SEO manipulation that are seen to harm the visitor and do not have the quality of content / content that matches the search results.

The purpose of this guide is also to encourage webmasters to do basic SEO principles and basic principles and can provide users / visitors with relevant search results and quality content. Google guarantees that its SEO practices will rank well rather than manipulative ways.

The general guidelines and basic principles of Quality Content from Google are as follows:

1. Make the pages presented to users / visitors, not for search engines. Do not misbehave visitors or display content to search engines whose contents are different from those shown to visitors, typically referred to as "cloaking".

2. Avoid certain tricks that are only intended to improve the ranking on search engines. The thing that is often questioned is, do you feel comfortable in explaining what you have done in defeating blog / website that became a competitor? Another question that should also be raised is, "Does the way I do this will help the user / visitor? Will I do this trick if there is no search engine?

3. Do not engage in transaction / negotiation "link scheme" aimed at increasing rankings in search engines (SERP) and Pagerank. In particular, avoid directing links to web spammers or "neighboring sites" that have bad credibility as this can lower your website ranking.
Regarding the "link scheme", Google provides the following criteria:
a. Links intended to manipulate PageRank.
b. Links to web spammers or links to "bad neighboring sites".
c. Excessive reciprocal links and excessive link exchanges ("you link to me, I will definitely link to you")
d. Buy and sell links to increase PageRank.
4. Do not use programs, software or tools that are not authorized by Google to check pagerank, search engine ranking, and others. Such programs use computer systems that violate Google's TOS (Terms of Service). Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold ™ that send automated or programmatic orders to Google.

Google's specific guidelines for Quality Content:
1. Avoid using hidden text and links (hidden texts and hidden links)
2. Do not use "cloaking" (the use of hidden links) and redirecting the hidden ones.
3. Do not send automated queries to Google.
4. Do not load / display pages with irrelevant keywords.
5. Do not create pages, subdomains, or domains that substantially contain duplicate content.
6. Do not create pages intended to commit web crimes, such as phishing or installing viruses, trojans, or other badware.
7. Avoid "doorway" pages created just as search engines, or those that resemble "cookie cutter" like affiliate programs with little or no content.
8. If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site has quality and value for visitors. Provide unique and relevant content that can provide a reason for users / visitors to decide to visit your site.
