Fight Content Theft with DMCA Blogger (Practical Guide)

Theft of content / blog articles seemed to be stale because since the blog there, this discourse continues to be discussed and seemingly endless. But indeed, the reasoning behind it is very powerful and understandable. Many bloggers complain about the case of theft of content that befell them, including me. Very unfortunate if the content that has been made with effort, with deep thinking, even some who with research and testing, stolen raw without reference to the source according to the provisions. Most content thieves are newbie bloggers (or who want to be forever a newbie). I myself have been so annoyed with the number of articles this blog that continues to be stolen without any mention of source links. The writings people make are easily recognized as their own writing. A mentality completely out of the world of blogging at first. Instead, the feeling of laziness is highlighted. The worst, the inability to write to be the real reason to show that the thief content does not deserve to be a blogger. Is not blogger a writer?

For my friend who experienced the same thing, of course can feel the same thing. The good news, now my friend can move more broadly to combat theft of content and demands the removal of content from blogs containing stolen content. Google has a DMCA Complaint and Notice online service that makes it easy for us to report a stolen content to action. This DMCA notice applies to all Google products, including Blogger.

Why Use Blogger DMCA?
Using the DMCA notice is the most powerful way of content theft. There are many cases that mention that many content thieves ignore the warning from the original content owner, either in the form of comments or reprimands via email. They do not even pay attention and do not react to the expected reaction that is the link source or deletion of content. In addition, there is also the difficulty to track the blog owner because the content thieves usually have no trace of identity in the blog or other media. Usually they are "ashamed" to expose themselves and hide. You could say he has a blog but he is not a blogger. To overcome these obstacles, and as a peak reaction to article theft, I recommend reporting content theft via Blogger DMCA.

Flow & Complain Process Through Blogger DMCA
There are some processes to pass DMCA complaints, but do not worry about Google services associated with the DMCA is now through a fast process, about 24 hours or at most only a few days. Not as it used to be, in mid 2013, I have to wait for up to one / two months.
Here's the flow and process:
  1.  Found any suspected content by a blogger as stolen content from his blog or other blog.
  2.  Blogger then sent DMCA takedown letter. The Blogger Team then performs the verification process of content validity. Suspected content withdrawn into draft form, suspected blogger notified, and copy of DMCA complaint sent to chillingeffects.
  3. Until this process, the blogger suspected of stealing the content has the right to file a counter notice if it believes the content is not stolen.
  4. If proven the content is stolen, The Blogger Team will remove it from the blog. If not, then the content is returned / reissued within 10 days.
If a blog gets multiple complaints continuously due to a content theft case, Blogger will then consider the follow-up action of removing the blog from the Blogger service.

How to Write Blogger Online DMCA
Creating and writing DMCA letters is very easy. My friend just fill out the form online and enter some data needed.

1. Log into DMCA for Blogger product, click here.

2 .Fill in contact info in the form of full name, company name (can be name of blog / blog url), name of copyright holder, and email.

3. In the 'copyrighted work' section, fill in the original blog content url. Create a new row if more than one. Fill in the description of the copyright of the content. I suggest to fill it with the copyright details of the content that has been registered in the copyright service. I usually attach the content details and copyright containing urls that I have listed on myfreecopyright.com & dmca.com. If no, give a brief description of the article creation, such as dates and more. Do not worry if the stolen contrived content advanced date of manufacture (back date), because bloggers have real data when the article was made.

4. Fill in the url of the article page containing the stolen content. Click 'add an additional field' to add a new form if the url is more than one.

5. In the "sworn statements" section, click / check "Please check to confirm" to confirm that you are the owner of the legitimate content and that the content contained in other blogs does not own the
copyright or authorization from you.

6. In the "signature" section, enter the date of making the complaint letter and the digital signature in the form of the full name exactly as the name has been pre-filled.
7.Click "Submit"
The Blogger Team will send a reply message stating that the letter has been received and the process will be done (see example Blogger Team reply email) The duration of the verification and take down process depends on the number of complaints queue and the number of complained content. If the process goes wrong, there will be more emails from the Blogger Team stating that content from Blog A and Blog B (if more than one) has been deleted or that the content in Blog C can not be deleted because it does not match the verification result (if it turns out suspicion is considered wrong). For the last I have never experienced. However, you can re-do DMCA complaint again if you have confidence that the content was stolen. Give a copyright description that is stronger than ever for the results to match expectations.
